In 2023, four additional Oregon Pine washback’s were installed at Lochranza, increasing the distillery’s annual pure alcohol production from 600,000 litres to 800,000 litres. After the outstanding Arran 27 Year Old Sherry Cask featured in our 2024 New Vibrations Creation Catalogue, this venerable bourbon bottling once again invites us on a journey through time. The minimalist palette of flavours and aromas is characterised by a succession of fruity, floral and herbaceous sequences whose complexity and freshness are rivalled only by their incredibly mature expression.

Nose : refined, distinguished. The remarkably fresh aroma palette reveals florals (lily of the valley, lily), fruit (William’s pear, orange), herbaceous notes (lemon balm) and spices (ginger). Vanilla and chocolate then become more prominent. There is also a lovely note of almond syrup.

Appearance : Bright gold.

Palate : lively yet creamy. The flavour palette is extroverted and abundantly fruity (white grape, gooseberry), with notes of honey (acacia). Refreshing herbal teas (vervain, sage, chamomile) revitalise the taste buds.

Overall : long, delicate. Accompanied by milky notes (coconut, almond), smoke rings from a refined Havana cigar waft through the finish. Then sunny (sunflower) and juicy (pear), the incredibly delicate and velvety mouthfeel dominates.
