Single Malt Whisky, Scotland/Islay

Founded in 1815 by Alexander and Donald Johnston, the Laphroaig distillery doubled its production capacity in 1924. From 1954 to 1972, it was run by Elizabeth ‘Bessie’ Williamson, during which time three new stills were installed. It is now owned by the Suntory company. Absolutely magnificent, this particularly sunny version brings out all the olfactory and gustatory ingredients that make Laphroaig an inimitable single malt. Connoisseurs will particularly appreciate the aftertaste, imbued with wisps of Havana smoke floating in an infinitely maritime setting.
