Single Malt Whisky, Ireland / County Antrim
Bushmills was the first distillery to be given an official licence for distillation in 1608. The current distillery, however, dates from 1784. In April 2019, the new owners, Casa Cuervo, were given permission by local authorities to build 29 new maturation cellars. In parallel, a new mashtun, eight new washbacks and ten new stills will be installed, bringing the distillery’s production capacity up to nine million litres of pure alcohol per year. In the past, the versions aged in bourbon, sherry and rum casks selected by La Maison du Whisky have been extremely popular with the most demanding enthusiasts. For the LMDW 2021 Creation Catalogue, you can discover this venerable Bushmills aged in a cognac cask, which immediately transports you to the Giant’s Causeway.
