Single Malt Whisky, Scotland / Speyside
Located in the village of the same name, the Craigellachie distillery was founded in 1890. In 1964, it doubled its production capacity, moving from two to four stills. In the LMDW 2017 Creation Catalogue, they wrote that the Craigellachie 1970 cask no. 1607 was timeless, enchanting, stately and solidly anchored in the region of its birth, Speyside. Just as captivating, distinguished, complex and moving, the only fault of this sister version, also from the warehouses of the famous independent bottlers Gordon & MacPhail, is its rarity. But, given it has spent 50 years in cask, can we really complain?
