Single Malt Whisky, Japan
Takashi Kiyoi, Nagahama’s master blender, and Yusuke Yahise, the master distiller, have been curating every cask and every whisky for seven years to create whiskies that can be enjoyed today and tomorrow. This single Cask was matured in Bourbon Cask for three years. It has then been finished in a Sake Cask which has previously contained Junmai Daiginjo sake. This expression is a testament to the artistry of Japanese whisky-making, showcasing balance, elegance, and a profound respect for the cask.
TASTING NOTES
Nose: Incredibly round, with some sweet vanilla and flowery notes brought by the bourbon cask, balanced out by more refreshing and herbal notes reminiscent of lemongrass and rice.
Palate: Full expression of the sake cask, with some dryness and sharpness balanced out by an underlying sweetness.
Overall: There is a lingering fruitiness, with fruits such as muskat raisins and pear, balanced out by the delicate spiciness and sweetness of vanilla and white flowers.
