Founded in 2013 by Yoshiharu Takeuchi, the Nine Leaves distillery features the family crest adorned with nine bamboo leaves.

After working with Ichiro Akuto, owner of the Chichibu distillery, he clearly displays his ambition: to create an exceptional rum by applying the artisanal production methods of single malt.

To achieve this, he chooses to settle in Shiga Prefecture, near an underground spring renowned for the sweetness and purity of its water from Mount Ishiyama. Named Last Drop, this version comes from the last distillate produced by Nine Leaves, which closed its doors in 2023: a flavorful blend of power and sweetness, it stands out for its oxidative character and fresh cane juice flavours.
