WHAT’S IN A NAME?

Printed in Mauritius in 1847 the Penny Blue stamp immediately become a collectors item because of its inscription. A mistake by the engraver resulted in it reading. “post office” rather than the usual “post paid”. With only 500 produced its rarity has made it one of the world’s most expensive stamps.

The distillery is located on the west coast of the island, nestled between the mountains and the azure sea, the Medine Distillery has been making rum since 1926 and it is here that the limited edition Penny Blue rum is crafted.
