In the pursuit of even rarer & more intense bourbon, Widow Jane unearths its oldest whiskey yet. Black Opal is an artful blend of rare whiskeys, each aged for a minimum of 20 years.
This extraordinary marriage of bourbons takes on an extended finish in prized Mizunara Oak casks. Old growth trees are harvested, air-seasoned, & crafted into casks that receive a medium toast. Highly porous & low in tannins, this special Japanese oak imparts an intense & distinctive flavour on the bourbon.

Tasting Notes
Nose: Tahitian vanilla, frankincense smoke, white miso, dried apricot, and rose hip.
Palate: Walnut, black strap molasses, crème brûlée, poached plum, burnt sage, and brown butter.
Finish: Beeswax, ginger snap, chocolate ganache, nutmeg, caramelized sugar.
