The Ardmore distillery produces a single malt with a moderate amount of peat (between 12 and 14 ppm of phenols). This version, aged in bourbon casks, has a smooth, smoky character with notes of baked apples, bourbon vanilla, gentian, and peat.
Reduced to 43% without either chill filtering or colouring, they have a rich, intensely aromatic character and slightly cloudy appearance. For a more authentic tasting experience, they can be enjoyed either at room temperature or lightly chilled to accentuate the oily aspect.
