This small batch of Dalwhinnie enjoys a layering of intense flavors, developed through over thirty years of maturation in second fill barrels of various sizes, which have taken the character of the distillery to the peak of perfection. Marked by aromas of the moors, the flavors are delicately sweet and surprisingly peppery. Born in the heart of Scotland’s highest distillery, among the coldest regions, Dalwhinnie is mountain malt. It has developed its particularity by confronting the harsh climate of arid and often desolate landscapes, just like the mountain hares which abound in the surrounding hills.
