The generous rye content found in FEW Rye is married with the sweetness of corn for a genteel interpretation of the venerable spirit. A blend of 70% Midwestern rye, 20% local corn and 10% two-row malted barley and fermented with a wine yeast from France’s Loire Valley.
Tasting Notes
Nose: Crisp grain with caramel and honey on the nose.
Palate: A luscious whiskey sweetness on the palate with spiciness that is accented by notes of pepper, ginger and vanilla.
Finish: The long, satisfying finish emphasises toasted oak, cherry, plum and pear flavours.
