Small but mighty, FEW Distillery makes its whisky using two stills, which according to Hletko is a rarity among production facilities of its size. The whiskey originates from a Vendome still used for the initial distillation and then a 1,500-liter hybrid still is used to finish the whiskies. The distillery team consists of a small group of loyal and passionate craft spirit professionals.
FEW Single Malt has a recipe of 100% malted barley and is smoked with cherry wood rather than peat. One of the very few American Single Malt offerings with just 500 – 600 bottles released worldwide; the American Single Malt category is pretty HOT at the moment with these expressions being actively searched out by consumers.
TASTING NOTES
Hint of smoked almond and honey on the nose. Texture and flavours reminiscent of a perfectly crafted cappuccino, semi-sweet chocolate with a subtle smoke from cherry wood, oak. Residual flavours of bourbon and rye whiskey. Soft, smooth, and round.
