As part of the Light Rum Owen Kelly (LROK) category, a mark produced at the Hampden distillery since 1952, this version has an ester content of 200-400 grams per hectolitre of pure alcohol. The gently nuanced palette of flavours and aromas recalls, with its empyreumatic and fruity notes, the Hampden The Younger LROK in the Antipodes catalogue also distilled in 2018. Toffee notes have simply been added to the end of the palate, which, while less juicy, is deliciously rich.
