“MARS The Y.A.” is a brand new Japanese whisky made to show how astonishing the whisky matured under the one-of-a-kind environment in Yakushima is.

The 1st release is a Blended malt Japanese whisky featuring single malts from “Komagatake(Mars Shinshu distillery)”, and “Tsunuki(Mars Tsunuki distillery)” mainly matured in bourbon barrels. The Yakushima island has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1993. The climate is hot and tropical with a high percentage of humidity. It is said that “it rains 35 days a month”. This extreme climate also gives Mars a different aging environment from Shinshu et Tsunuki with a higher share of angels.
