One can read many stories about the origin of the Manhattan. Its provenance is difficult to establish with certainty, but one thing is certain: the first recipe for this cocktail, which is a true American icon, was published in 1884. While it is usually made with rye whisky, Travellers’ Cocktails New York is made with Nikka Coffey Grain whisky combined with del Professore Rosso Vermouth and aromatic bitters, topped with a dash of Amarena cherries.
