This six-year-aged rye is finished in the barrel with real, toasted apple wood staves, imparting a bright apple flavor and subtle sweetness. In 2023, Widow Jane relaunched Apple Wood Rye as a small-batch expression, now featuring rye distilled at Widow Jane Distillery in Brooklyn, NY. Bottled at a higher proof of 93 (46.5% ABV), it delivers a more intensified profile. Perfectly suited for classic cocktails like The Big Apple Rye Manhattan, this unique whiskey is a true standout.

Each batch is crafted using 5 barrels, never more, of straight ryes from Kentucky, Indiana, and New York (with the New York rye distilled at Widow Jane Distillery in Red Hook, Brooklyn, NYC). Aged in new charred American oak barrels, natural toasted apple wood staves are added for a special, unique finish. The whiskey is proofed with limestone mineral water from the legendary Rosendale Mines of New York, 99 miles north of Brooklyn, enhancing the mouthfeel and delivering a long, smooth finish.

Apple Wood Rye was awarded Double Gold at the Global Spirits Awards 2023, a testament to its exceptional quality and flavour.
