Single Malt Whisky, Scotland / Speyside,
Equipped with two wash stills and four spirit stills since 1966, Benrinnes practiced a partial triple distillation until 2009. Since then, it has returned to a more classic double distillation, producing a single malt that is heavier and more “animal” than most her sisters from Speyside. Strongly influenced by its aging in first-fill sherry casks, this particularly talkative and extroverted version has nevertheless managed to remain deeply rooted in its region of origin. As evidenced by the many divinely malty sequences of its aromatic and gustatory palette.
