Single Malt Whisky Scotland/Islay

This single malt hails from the Caol Ila distillery on the Isle of Islay. Distilled in 2014, it was matured for 6 years in bourbon hogsheads, followed by 4 years in 110-litre ex-bourbon quarter casks. This distinctive ageing imparts rich, peated aromas of salted caramel, white pepper, and gentle smoke. The Benchmark series lies at the heart of the Murray McDavid range, offering exceptional single malts that highlight the Art of Maturation. Aged in specially selected casks from around the world, they celebrate characterful single malts, both young and old. Each year, the tasting panel gathers at the Distillery Director’s House at Parkmore to select fine single malts for the Benchmark series. These moments of shared passion and collective discovery give rise to a most celebrated and inspired single malt releases.
