Papalin is a project dedicated to rum blends, made by Luca Gargano himself. After the success of the first edition launched by Velier in October 2013 (now a collectors’ item), the brand has been revived with two new releases: Papalin Jamaica 7 years old and Papalin Jamaica 7 years old Navy Proof.
Jamaica is the latest area of research and selection by Velier and these Papalin rums represent a new horizon of blending tropically aged pot still rums. They are ‘vatted rums’ (blend of different pot stills), entirely aged in the respective warehouses of the distilleries where they were produced: Worthy Park and Hampden Estate.
The reason Papalin is called a “tropical dependent bottler” is that Velier is the only company that creates direct partnerships with distilleries when it comes to sourcing and ageing rums, and
therefore depends on the distilleries until the product is bottled. This way, all the projects are planned hand in hand with partners in terms of sourcing and ageing, which always takes place in the official warehouses of the distilleries.
Papalin Jamaica 7 years old, reduced at 47% ABV, is a perfect introduction to the style of Jamaican rum for new consumers. It is balanced, approachable and round, easy to enjoy for all spirits
lovers whether it is drunk neat, on the rocks or even mixed.
