Single Malt Whisky, Japan

The Whisky Magazine IB Japanese Craft Whiskey Series is a collaboration between bottler Hua Yang and Whisky Magazine. Released in 2022, 3 bottlings are available, a Chichibu 7 year old, a Yuza 7 year old and a Sakuro 3 year old. Founded in 2018, the distillery is located in the north-east of Japan. It usually uses bourbon casks for maturation, but this edition uses sherry casks.

TASTING NOTES

Nose:  Barley and yeast, kumquat, leather.

Appearance:  Amber.

Palate: Lively, fruity, orange, touch of chocolate.

Overall: Intense and expressive.
