Single Malt Whisky, Scotland/Highlands
This Glen Ord, distilled in 2012, was aged for 12 years in first-fill bourbon casks before being bottled at 57.10%. This Highland single malt with a lively, fruity profile opens with notes of apple, honey and lemon. The 100 Proof range refers to the British system of measuring alcohol content, which corresponds to the famous “Navy Strength”. At 57.1% proof, this range highlights a variety of distilleries, which express themselves with great intensity while retaining the aromatic richness typical of Signatory Vintage’s ageing expertise. A range to take tasting a step further and rediscover the ageing work of this independent bottler. Glen Ord is a historic distillery founded in 1838 in the Highlands, near Inverness. Known for its fruity, malty style, it uses barley malted on site, a rarity in Scotland today. Less publicized than others, Glen Ord produces elegant, well-balanced whiskies, often reserved for Asia or confidential bottlings.
