Single Malt Whisky, Scotland/Speyside
Craigellachie was founded in 1891 by a colorful character, Peter Mackie, and has been owned by John Dewars & Sons since 1998. The creator of the international commercial success, the White Horse blend, Peter was one of the five Barons of the whisky industry, one of the famous ‘Big Five’. His uncle, whom he later inherited, was none other than James Logan Mackie, owner of the Lagavulin distillery on Islay. This Craigellachie was distilled in 2012 and aged for 11 years in Oloroso Sherry casks. It reveals rich, mouth-watering aromas of salted butter toffee, candied fruit and leather.
The small batch range includes bottlings in small batches, numbered, unfiltered and untainted. At 48.10% proof and until now marked by the sherry cask, they are the perfect representatives of the distilleries featured on the labels in a rich and singular style.
