Single Malt Whisky, Scotland / Highlands
Founded in 1838 as Glen Oran, this distillery was renamed Glen Ord in 1923. It is one of only two Scottish distilleries to malt all of its own barley, today in the drum maltings installed at the site in 1968. Equipped with three wash stills and three spirit stills, it is able to produce 11 million liters of pure alcohol per year, making it the sixth highest producer in Scotland. Its naturally malty palette of flavors and aromas wavers between medicinal and herbaceous notes. The latter include aromatic plants that play a key role in its balance and bring a lot of originality.
