Rum, Reunion
Located in St Pierre, in the south of Reunion Island, Isautier has been a family distillery for seven generations, with more than 175 years of history and tradition. It is the oldest rum distillery and the oldest company on Reunion Island. The family has been deeply involved in the history of the island. From the 1860s, Isautier continued its development, particularly internationally, and received numerous awards for the quality of its rums. It is one of the few distilleries in the world to offer both aged agricultural rums and traditional aged rums of the highest quality. The property currently has 500 hectares of land and 300 of sugar cane. The richness of the volcanic soils, the diversity of minerals, as well as the terroirs, influenced by the trade winds, are at the origin of the most productive cane varieties in Reunion.
