Single Malt Whisky, Scotland / Highlands
After closing for two years to undergo major renovation work, the Tobermory distillery reopened in July 2019. A new stainless steel mash tun was notably introduced to replace the cast iron mash tun installed in 1972. In addition to its eponymous unpeated whisky, the distillery also produces a second peated malt named Ledaig. Note after note, this version faithfully recreates the mineral, animal, empyreumatic and salty style so characteristic of Ledaig. Thanks to the sherry cask maturation, it has also taken on an exotic fruitiness and a pleasantly unctuous chocolate.
