Like a memorable tasting, photography captures the essence of the present moment. Our passion for this form of art led us to contact the legendary magnum agency, a company founded in 1947 by various renowned photographers such as Robert Capa and Henri Cartier Bresson, which today includes some of the best press reporters in the world.
We have set our sights on one of the agency’s former presidents, American photographer Elliot Erwitt, who was born in 1928 in Paris. He is notably famous for the satirical humour found in his work, but also for a humanistic sensibility dear to the spirit of Magnum.
Four of his photographs have been used to illustrate the labels in this exciting inaugural release of the Magnum series, compromising Hampden 2016, Mount Gay 2007, Saint James 2006 and Foursquare 2005.
The picture on this label has been taken in California at Pacific Palisades, in 1999.
Mount Gay 14 years old is a very old, intense and unique expression of the iconic brand, identity of Barbados,: it has been distilled in a double retort pot still only and never blended with column distillate as official Mount Gay branded rums do. It truly represents the beating heart of Mount Gay distillery. Distilled in 2007, it spent 14 years in white American oak barrels in the tropical weather of Barbados, thus extremely concentrate but with a magnificent elegance.
