Like a memorable tasting, photography captures the essence of the present moment. Our passion for this form of art led us to contact the legendary magnum agency, a company founded in 1947 by various renowned photographers such as Robert Capa and Henri Cartier Bresson, which today includes some of the best press reporters in the world.
We have set our sights on one of the agency’s former presidents, American photographer Elliot Erwitt, who was born in 1928 in Paris. He is notably famous for the satirical humour found in his work, but also for a humanistic sensibility dear to the spirit of Magnum.
Four of his photographs have been used to illustrate the labels in this exciting inaugural release of the Magnum series, compromising Hampden 2016, Mount Gay 2007, Saint James 2006 and Foursquare 2005.
The picture on this label has been taken at Coney Island, New York, in 1954.
HLCF stands for Hampden Light Continental Flavoured. It is one of several marks made at Hampden Estate and refers to a rum with a high ester concentration, ranging from 400 to 600 gr/HLPA. This rum is marked by its power as shown by the 60% alcohol content. In spite of its strength, it remains refined and delicate, with toasty, woody and spicy aromas.
