Single Malt Whisky, Japan / 50cl
Master blender Takashi Kiyoi and distiller Yusuke Yahisa created this single malt, matured in Bourbon Casks for short periods. It is then further matured in Islay Quarter Casks, and finished in Sauternes Casks for about one year.
Each cask is carefully selected according to the distillery’s vision: one brew, one cask, which fully showcases the flavours of the Nagahama malt unadorned.
Discover this single cask, which associates the power of peat and the sweetness of Sauternes to perfection.
TASTING NOTES
Nose : An instant pleasure brought by the Sauternes, revealing the acidity and crispness of apples and peaches, underlined by the tannins of the barrels.
Palate : Full and elegant, the palate is marked by tart berries, accompanied by a pleasantly dry texture.
Overall : Islay finally takes over with a moderate smoky taste from the Quarter Cask maturation that brings out the full flavour.
