Single Malt Whisky, Scotland
Dedicated to the most emblematic distillery of Speyside, the Speymalt from Macallan collection unveils the full depth and complexity of the single malts from this distillery, of which Gordon & MacPhail was one of the official bottlers until the 1970s. Particularly enticing, this version invites you to discover this prestigious single malt in an unusual light. Whether in terms of colour, aroma, or taste, it endlessly unfolds a gradient of golden tones that unmistakably evoke a superb yellow wine from Jura with wonderfully mature and oxidative characteristics.
TASTING NOTES
Colour : Deep golden yellow.
Nose : Fine, complex. At first sniff, beeswax, fragrances of fresh nuts, vanilla, and wildflowers (daisy, daffodil) highlight the extreme finesse of expression of the aromatic palette. Then, hints of almond, ripe apple, and some traces of salt evoke fino sherry.
Palate : Rich, graceful. Delightfully saline, the palate attack quickly evolves towards more honeyed (acacia), infused (linden), and floral (white lilac) tones. Appetizingly, the mid-palate invites us to savor a delicious vanilla and apricot flan.
Finish : Long, subtle. At the beginning of the finish, vanilla pods, roasted pineapples, and candied ginger emphasize the very mature character of the taste palette. Original, the end of the palate evolves towards more oriental notes (coriander, curry). In the aftertaste, ointments (balm) delicately cover the perimeter of the palate.
