A symphony of Old World flavors. The Whistle Pig Old World Rye is the result of long experiments inspired by the know-how of the Old World. After aging for more than a decade in new American oak barrels, the liquid is separated into 3 types of barrels which each bring a unique characteristic to the blend: 63% in Madeira barrels, 30% in Sauternes barrels. and 7% in Port barrels. Our master blender combines these flavors like a conductor composes a symphony.
TASTING NOTE
Color: Dark amber.
Nose: Aromas of dates and grapes, mixed with notes of honey, jam and apple pie.
Taste: An attack on apricot and honey, followed by an explosion of spicy rye, plums, caramel and a touch of mint.
Final: The richness of winter fruits gives way to notes of oak, dark chocolate and caramel.
