Unlike the Kilchoman 100% Islay distilled in 2010 from this same creation catalogue, this version made from malted and peated barley (50 ppm) by the Port Ellen malting undeniably places peat at the center of its aromatic and taste palette. However, deeply altruistic, it knows how, when necessary, to step aside to allow fruity, herbaceous, floral, honeyed or even milky tones to fully express themselves, which further enhance its empyreumatic, ashy, liquorice and medicinal character.
