Single Malt Whisky, Scotland / Highlands
Founded in 2015, the Isle of Harris distillery, best known for its gin, is equipped with eight Oregon Pine washbacks, a 7,000 litre wash still and a 5,000 litre spirit still. The lightly peated single malt (12-14 ppm) it has produced since December 2015, which was released for the first time this year, is named after the word for the island’s inhabitants, The Hearach. Irrepressibly natural, this version develops to the rhythm of a peat that integrates seamlessly into the flavour and aroma palette’s outstanding lush, fruity and malty tones.
