In 2015, the jury of the World Whisky Awards shook up the established order and captured the public’s attention when it awarded World’s Best Single Malt to a Kavalan Solist Vinho Barrique. Revealing faultless unity of tone throughout the tasting, this magnificent version follows unmistakably in the footsteps of its predecessor. A true basketful of fruits, the remarkably complex palette of flavours and aromas boasts extraordinary generosity.

TASTING NOTES
Nose : Full, distinguished. The slightly camphoric nose is also floral (purple lilac, geranium), fruity (muscat grape, black cherry) and peppery. Allowed to breathe, citrus (orange, clementine) and exotic fruits (plantain banana, roasted pineapple) magnify the palette.

Appearance : Acajou.

Palate : Svelte, lively. On the attack, red fruits (raspberry, strawberry) and cocoa flavors pair together beautifully. This initial opening is drawn out with notes of dried fruit (apricot, date, fig), melon and toffee.

Overall : Long, well-balanced. Staying very close to the palate, the start of the finish beams with fruity freshness (wild strawberry, papaya). The powdery after-taste (cocoa, ginger, nutmeg) reveals radiantly noble wood (incense) and beautifully mature fruit (dried date, blood orange).
