Single Malt Whisky, Japan / 50cl
Master blender Takashi Kiyoi and distiller Yusuke Yahisa created this heavily peated single malt, matured in Bourbon Casks for four years. Each cask is carefully selected according to the distillery’s vision one brew, one cask, which fully showcases the flavours of the Nagahama malt unadorned. The result is a unique single malt whiskey of great quality and great complexity. Promising for this young distillery!
TASTING NOTES
Nose : Impressive, with powerful smoke followed by empyreumatical notes of leather softened by the delicate notes of vanilla brought in by the bourbon cask
Palate : The peat expresses itself fully reinforced by the high alcoholic degree like a gust of wind on the seaside. The malt remains present in the background, enhanced by the spiciness of black pepper.
Overall : Finally exotic fruits such as banana and passionfruit take the lead over the sea salt peat which remains nevertheless on the tip of the tongue.
