Like a memorable tasting, photography captures the essence of the present moment. Our passion for this form of art led us to contact the legendary Magnum agency, a company founded in 1947 by various renowned photographers such as Robert Capa and Henri Cartier Bresson, which today includes some of the best press reporters in the world.
We have set our sights on one of the agency’s former presidents, American photographer Elliot Erwitt, who was born in 1928 in Paris. He is notably famous for the satirical humor found in his work, but also for a humanistic sensibility dear to the spirit of Magnum.
Four of his photographs have been used to illustrate the labels in this exciting inaugural release of the Magnum series, comprising Hampden 2016, Mount Gay 2007, Saint James 2006 and Foursquare 2005. All four are available in 70cl but also in 150cl magnum formats.
The picture on this label has been taken during a wedding of Erwitt’s friends, showing the bride’s silhouette.
The Saint James 15 years old is the first independent bottling of the distillery. Distilled in Creole column still as an AOC Agricole, blend of two vintage 2004 and 2006 , it conveys a very old expression, with great character, and still vibrant and remarkably well balanced.
