Single Malt Whisky, Scotland/Speyside
Founded in 1824 by Alexander Reid as Elchies, the distillery was renamed Macallan-Glenlivet in 1892. Between 1965 and 1975, it increased its production capacity several times, from six to twenty-one stills. In April 2016, the Edrington Group, which bought the distillery in 1999, began construction of a brand new distillery equipped with thirty-six stills. This building, with its spectacular futuristic architecture, was inaugurated in January 2018. Aged in a second-fill bourbon cask, this version reveals this iconic single malt in a particularly fruity light. Remarkably fresh in expression, its aromatic and flavour palette is also the scene of honeyed, herbaceous and spicy jousts that give it great complexity and depth.
