Single Malt Whisky, England / West Midlands
Founded in 2014 by Daniel Szor, the Cotswolds distillery is equipped with three stills, one 2,400-litre wash still, one 1,600-litre spirit still – in which it produces its stunning single malt, and one 500-litre Holstein still which is used to produce gin, notably from the lavender that grows on the hills of this beautiful region in the south-west of England. Produced from a blend of equal parts of one second-fill bourbon cask, one new oak cask, one sherry cask and one Pedro Ximenez sherry cask, this small batch bottled at cask strength was assembled by the team from our 20 rue d’Anjou store. With incredible herbaceous freshness (second fill bourbon), it is also chocolate and spicy (new cask), wonderfully rancio and oxidative (oloroso) and very pleasantly smooth (Pedro Ximenez). Outstanding.
