Single Malt Whisky, Scotland/ The Lowlands
The Publican barley variety used for this edition was grown in field 43ac and harvested on August 28 and 29, 2009. It was then dried and stored on the farm before being malted in Alloa during the summer of 2010. The single malt used for this bottling comes from twenty-seven first-fill ex-bourbon casks, which were filled in December 2011. It then matured in the upper part of our warehouse until its bottling in 2024.
Daftmill is a farm distillery. Owned by the Cuthbert family, it only operates during the quiet periods of the farm, in mid-summer and winter, sometimes producing fewer than 100 casks per year. When not distilling, Francis Cuthbert manages the estate, growing the malting barley used to create this Lowlands whisky.
