Although the distillery was officially founded in 1824, it was not until 1859 that it took the name Glenlivet, after owner George Smith completed construction of a brand-new distillery on the site of Minmore. Between 2009 and 2010, the number of stills was increased from eight to fourteen. More recently, in 2018, a second distillery was opened next to the warehouses and also equipped with fourteen stills. Revealing remarkable freshness, this deeply malty version’s palette of flavours and aromas beams with rich fruit and noble spices.
