Single Malt Whisky, India / Bangalore
Ancient Tamil texts, which date back to the Sangam period (300 BC – 300 AD), classify mother earth into five regions called tinais, each associated with a literary style, a distinct grammar, culture and even cuisine. “Neidhal”, according to this classification includes all the oceans and neighboring regions or, in short, the coasts and the way of life associated with them. Neidhal is an off the beaten track adventure that Amrut has embarked on and for the first time in India we decided to show some of these hidden gems.We have polished this gem, changing a few elements during maturation, to highlight its potential. Neidhal is an eponymous single malt from a coastal region .It exhibits characteristics unique to this region – notes of tropical fruit, vanilla punctuated with sweet phenols and especially sea salt on the nose. On the palate, it is a fruit cocktail and bewitching phenols with a touch of iodine. The finish is phenolic with a hint of sweet vanilla.
