Single Malt Whisky, Ireland
A revolution has rocked the whiskey category since 2020: Waterford Distillery!
Led by the famous Mark Reynier, the project put the emphasis back on barley, at the heart of the final aromatic of a single malt, thanks to an ambitious triptych Terroir, Traceability and Transparency. Inspired by the greatest winemakers and thanks to the formidable richness of the Irish terroir, coupled with elite and avant-garde production methods, the distillery created the event with a Single Farm Origin range acclaimed by critics such as enthusiasts.
The expression of the complexity of a single terroir, a single farm, a single harvest. One place, one farm, at a time! This year, Mark Reynier and his team are back with two new Single Farms, as successful as ever. This edition was distilled from barley grown and harvested in 2015 in County Wexford by Mark Browne at the 18th century Broomlands Farm. Very fertile, the terroir made up of clay soil and an unchanging climate, is at the origin of a single malt very marked by spices and malty notes. Rich and intense, this expression nevertheless presents a great freshness, which will delight lovers of Waterford.
